Paris Prosecutor Still Hopes to Recover Stolen Louvre Jewels

17.01.2026 48

The Paris prosecutor said that the jewels stolen from the Apollo Gallery of the Louvre Museum in Paris have not yet been recovered. Nevertheless, investigative authorities continue to pursue the case actively. According to her, despite the lack of concrete results regarding the location of the stolen items, the determination of judicial and police authorities remains unchanged.

As part of the investigation, several individuals have been taken into custody, and multiple lines of inquiry are still being examined. Investigators are analyzing physical evidence collected at the scene, as well as other clues that may lead to the recovery of the stolen jewels. Searches carried out so far have not resulted in the discovery of the missing items.

The prosecutor recalled that the jewels, valued at several tens of millions of euros, constitute an important part of France’s cultural heritage. She also emphasized that such objects cannot be legally sold on the open market, which strengthens hopes that they may eventually be found and returned.

Authorities urge anyone with relevant information to come forward and assist the investigation.
